Coconut Bliss Balls

These delicious, energy-boosting coconut bliss balls are the perfect on-the-go snack. Super easy to make, minimal fuss and no baking required.

  • 1 cups pecans
  • 10 medjool dates, pitted
  • ½ cup apple puree (store bought or make your own, it's so easy - see how in the recipe notes below)
  • 2 tsp gelatinised maca powder (use pure vanilla powder or ground cinnamon if you don't have maca powder)
  • Pinch unrefined sea salt
  • ¾ cup milled flaxseed, sunflower and pumpkin seeds (I used Linwoods)
  • ½ cup desiccated coconut


  • Place the pecans, dates, apple puree, vanilla, sea salt and milled seeds together in a food processor and process until the mixture binds together. You may need to stop it occasionally and push the ingredients down with a spatula before starting it up again.
  • Shape ½ tbsp portions of the mixture into evenly sized balls (about 40mm in diameter). It will help if you have slightly wet hands if the mixture is sticky.
  • Spread the desiccated coconut evenly on a plate or tray. Then roll each ball in the desiccated coconut to coat. Place on a clean plate or baking tray.
  • Place the balls in the fridge for about an hour to set. If you don't want to eat straightaway then store the bliss balls in an airtight container in the fridge (for up to a week) or the freezer (for up to a month).


To make 1/2 cup apple puree, simply peel, core and chop two apples into chunks, place in a small saucepan with 2 tbsp water and simmer until soft (about 10 minutes). Then either blend or mash to a pureed consistency. I regularly make a large batch and store in 1/2 cup portions in the freezer.
